Adaptability evaluation of land space development is an important basis for planning land spatial and selecting development strategy. This paper establishes a localized evaluation index system based on “Guide to adaptability evaluation of resources environmental carrying capacity and land spatial development (trial)”, and evaluates land spatial development adaptability via ArcGIS spatial and multiple factors analysis in Xincai county, Henan province. There is no very important ecological protection area in Xincai county, and the important ecological protection area is 3.93%, which mainly distributes in both sides of Xinyang highway, Daguang highway, Ruhe and Honghe. Agricultural production adaptability is generally high with about 80.67% of the land area, high in the west, north and east, low in the centre, southeast and southwest. Urban construction adaptability is relatively high with about 77.24% of the area, showing high in central-western and urban areas, and low in eastern and western marginal areas. This paper presents suggestions on appropriately planning ecological, agricultural and urban land for a better development of economy and society, based on the land development strategy of “five belts four zones one district multiple points”.
